Obituary

Connie Irene Yelley, 52 of Deadwood, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center.

Memorial services will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lead with Pastor Tom Stenzel officiating. A memorial has been established to the Northern Hills Community Band, Twin City Animal Shelter and the Shepherd of the Hills Church.

Connie was born on October 2, 1958 to Malcolm and Jean (Helmer) Yelley. She attended schools in the Lead/Deadwood area and graduated in 1976. She graduated from Black Hills State College in May of 1978 with an Associate of Arts Degree. Since 1979 she has worked in banking business. On March 27, 1980, she gave birth to her son, Keith Alan Meicher, the love of her life. She was a very devoted mother and would do anything for her son. She was very active in music both with the Shepherd of the Hills Bell Choir, the Northern Hills Brass and the Northern Hills Community Band, in which she played the trumpet and was a member since 1972.

Connie is survived by her son, Keith and was preceded in death by her parents, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was a blessing to everyone who was around her and she will be very deeply missed, but the angels have a new member in their band now.
