Obituary

Clyde "Bob" Robert Roadifer, 88 of Sundance, Wyoming, passed away at the Crook County Long Term Care Center in Sundance on Wednesday, November 11, 2015.

Bob was born on June 1, 1927 in Sundance to Clyde & Nettie (Humphrey) Roadifer at the family homestead. He attended local country schools and "Old Stoney" in Sundance.

He was inducted into the Army in 1952 and served during the Korean War where he helped build bridges along the Korean DMZ. He received an honorable discharge in May 1960.

In Sundance, he worked as a mechanic with his brother, Dale, at the local Conoco station. He delivered mail for the postal service in the Aladdin area and did electrical repair on radios, televisions and other appliances for the community. He finished his career working for the State of Wyoming Port of Entry in Gillette & Sundance.

He was a member of the local I.O.O.F., the Crook Country Volunteer Fire Department, the Sr. Citizens and the United Methodist Church where his service was recognized with the 2007 Quiet Disciple Award.

He enjoyed participating in all family celebrations, going for drives, hunting in the beautiful Black Hills, the local parades and the county fair and riding his 4-wheeler (even while in his 80's, riding it downtown during the motorcycle rally!).

He was a hard working, kind, caring and honorable man who was always there to help family, friends, community and was known affectionately by many as "Grandpa Bob".
