Charlotte Lakson 90 of Spearfish died Friday, December 14, 2012 at the David M. Dorsett Health Care Center.
In Charlotte's own words- I left today to go join my Ron, Mom, Dad, Aunts, Uncles, Grandmothers and sisters, Phyllis and Betty. On December 17, 1921 I became the daughter of Matt and Margretta Krilanovich. I was raised in Lead and graduated from Lead High School in 1940 and went to work for Ma Bell. In April of 1942 I went to Florence, South Carolina to marry my high school sweetheart Ron Lakson. We said "I Do" on April 10th for 60 years. Following our wedding, Ron went overseas for three years. When he returned we returned to South Dakota and Ron attended the School of Mines, where he received a degree in Geology. Ron worked for an oil company that brought us to Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado and back to Texas. After 39 years we came home to our beautiful Black Hills and bought a home in Spearfish Canyon, where we lived for 12 wonderful years, Ron's health started to fail and we moved to Spearfish.
I have been blessed for my sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Emmett Franklin, two special nephews, Ross Franklin of Bremerton, WA and Randy Franklin of Brookings, SD and five beautiful great nieces and one great nephew.
