Carter James Leonhardt, of Spearfish, was born at home, weighing 7 lbs, 11 oz and 20" long, on March 27, 2012 to James and Christina Leonhardt and passed away on April 29, 2012 at home in his parents arms.

Surviving family members include his parents; big sister Genevieve; maternal grandparents Rod and Laurie Weis of Spearfish, paternal grandmother, Dianne Leonhardt of Spearfish; aunts and uncles, Barry and Robyn Weis of Blackhawk, Jamey Weis of Spearfish, Tammera and Loren Geske of Rapid City, Tracy and Jeff Fischer of Peoria, IL Teresa and Dave Gildemeister of Murrysville, PA, Roberta and Dan Oveson of Lakeville, MN and Landall and Michelle Leonhardt of Ipswich, SD; and sixteen cousins.

Carter was preceded in death by his sister, Makenzie Ranae Leonhardt and his paternal grandfather, Floyd Leonhardt.
