Obituary
Carrie Jo Johnson, 37, of Spearfish, SD, died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at Spearfish Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be from 3:00p.m. until 7:00p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Spearfish, with Pastor Dar Berkenpas officiating.
A trust fund in memory of Carrie Jo Johnson has been established at First Western Bank: 1400 North Avenue, Spearfish, SD 57783.
Carrie was born on July 4, 1971 to Jack Jeffery and Joan Dittler Carlin in Denver, CO. She grew up and attended school in Spearfish until her senior year when she moved to Denver, CO, where she graduated from high school. Carrie married Todd Johnson on July 8, 1989 in Spearfish and the couple made their home in Denver. To this union four sons were born; Tyler, Dylan, Jeffery and Todd. Carrie graduated from college with a medical assistant associate's degree. The family moved to Spearfish in 2000. Because of her love for children she was currently attending Black Hills State University to become a Special Education Teacher.
Carrie loved sports, especially her boys' sporting events. She was always involved in whatever activity her boys were in and helped run the concession stands at the baseball fields. She enjoyed helping people in any way that she could. She also loved her English Bull Dogs.
Carrie is survived by her husband, Todd Johnson and their four sons; Tyler, Dylan, Jeffery "JJ" and Todd Jr. "Little Todd" all of Spearfish, her parents, Joan (Joe) Carlin of Rapid City and Jack (Nina) Jeffery of Spearfish, her siblings, Lori (Larry) Railsback of Rapid City, Jay (Meagan) Jeffery of Gillette, WY, Angella Jeffery of Sturgis, SD, James (Jessie) Jeffery of Spearfish, Casey (Hollie) Jeffery of Sturgis, and Joshua Jeffery of Spearfish, her nieces and nephews: Michelle Jeffery, Daniel Logan, Savannah, John & Ellie Jeffery, Nash Jeffery and Brooklynn Jeffery, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Carrie was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and one cousin Todd Jeffery.
