Our beautiful, loving, spirited mommy, daughter, and sister, Carrera Marie Hall died on Saturday, January 21st from a drug overdose.
Carrera was the oldest of three children and a caring, loving mother to a precious little boy. Carrera had an incredible way of accepting people for who they were and loving them unconditionally. She had the most beautiful smile and her laughter was contagious. Carrera was diagnosed with anxiety and depression and even with prescribed medication, she turned to drugs and alcohol to quiet her soul.
We loved Carrera beyond measure and now are painfully aware, that was not enough to protect her from the power of addiction.
We were aware of Carrera's struggles and spent hours in prayer, praying for the cycle to be broken. The worry we have felt watching Carrera struggle, is now replaced by an overwhelming sense of loss that now exists, knowing we will never see that beautiful heartwarming smile again or hear that contagious laughter.
Her beautiful soul is free from the hurt and anguish she has endured.
In a week of mourning and pain, we thank God for the greatest gift she entrusted us with, her precious baby boy.
Good bye beautiful baby girl, we love you and miss you crazy.
Mommy: "Love you"
Son: "Love you the mostest and more bye…."
Carrera is survived by her son, Olli Valdez; her mom and dad, Bryce and Kerri Hall of Gettysburg, SD, brothers, Chayce of Brookings, SD, and Colton of Gettysburg, SD; grandparents, Ron and Judy Jones of Parshall, ND, and Bob and Francine Hall of Eagle Butte, SD. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Carole Anne Gillette.
There will be a memorial service on Thursday January 26th at 11 am at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Spearfish, SD with Pastor Mark Chaplin officiating. There will be a luncheon to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family will be establishing an education fund for Carrera's son.
