Carolyn Ross Neal, 69 of Lead, SD passed away peacefully in her sleep at home, on Monday, June 13, 2016.
She was born February 4, 1947 in Corte Madera, California; she was the daughter of the late Ross and Lois Miner. Carolyn had been a longtime resident of Lead, working at several places in Deadwood. She enjoyed dressing up in old time clothes, cooking and baking, knitting, and watching old time television shows; her favorites were, Little House on the Prairie and Bonanza. Carolyn also loved spending time with her children.
Carolyn is survived by her ex-husband, Bruce Neal of Aberdeen, SD, five sons; Shawn Mandeville, Spencer, IN, Shane Neal, Lead, SD, Chad (Heather) Neal, Rapid City, SD and Travis and Trever Neal, Rapid City, SD, four daughters; Kimberly (Paul) Baumgartner, Lead, SD, Mandy (Tony) Grohs, Aberdeen, SD, Heather (Danny) Porter, Lead, SD and Amber Neal and fiancé Ernie Wood, Rapid City, SD, three very dear friends; Maggie Ryan, Lead, SD, Maggie Mandeville, Yerington, NV and Aliyce Sargent, Lead, SD, 25 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two brothers, Wayne (Wendy) Miner of Denver, CO and Charlie (Anna) Miner of Novato, CA, one sister, Suzanne (Carl) Endicott of Denver, CO and many more family and friends.
Our beloved mom will be truly missed by all. Heaven has been blessed with a genuine angel.
Carolyn was preceded in death by parents, Lois and Ross Miner; sister, Mary Larsen; and daughter, Modesty Rodgers.
Funeral services will be at 10:30am, Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead, SD. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Mountain Lawn Cemetery.
