Carolyn D Hockett, of Newcastle, WY, passed away on December 21, 2015 at the Weston County Health Services at the age of 79.

Carolyn was born April 4, 1936. She was a devoted wife of 60 years, a loving mother to her six children, 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Carolyn always enjoyed working with people in arts and crafts, and devoted 35 years of her time serving at the Weston County Manor teaching ceramics to the residents there. She loved painting and making porcelain dolls as her lifetime hobby. She enjoyed Bible study with her lifelong friends in Upton Wyoming.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, James Neal Hockett; her siblings, Nancy Leonard of Storm Lake, IA and Bob Stevenson of Casper, WY; her children, Terri L. (Mike) Derocher, Mike (Denice) Hockett of Newcastle, Russ (Rose) Hockett of Duluth, MN, Susie (T.C) Lissolo of Yuma, AZ and Newcastle, Bob (Deb) Hockett of Newcastle and Ann Marchant of Spearfish SD; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Damon Stevenson and Dorothy Knoeful.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Weston County Senior Citizens Center, 627 Pine Street in Newcastle. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit the Weston County Manner Arts and Crafts.
