Carol Lynne Lockhart, 55, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2011, at Custer Regional Senior Care, Custer, SD. Carol suffered a brain aneurysm in November, 2004, and had remained in several nursing home facilities since that time struggling with multiple health problems over the years.

Carol was born August 28, 1956, in Cando, ND to Myrtle and Howard Lockhart. She spent her childhood in McIntosh, SD, where she attended elementary school and graduated from McIntosh High School in 1974. Following high school, she attended National College of Business in Rapid City. For a time she worked for the Pennington County Sheriff's Office and then went on to work many years in radio advertising sales.

Carol had a wry sense of humor and even though she struggled during the last years of her life, when her family and friends would visit her in the nursing home, they would always be greeted by a sweet mischievous grin and a question about whether they had any chocolate for her. She loved chocolate and kitties.

She is survived by two sisters, Sandra (Marshall) Campbell, Rapid City, and Holly (Jim) Glines, Rapid City, and one brother Steve of Viborg SD, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Marlon.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish.
