Brandon James Lettau, 30 of Spearfish, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024.

Brandon James Lettau was born in Sturgis, SD on Mother's Day May 11, 1994,  to Paula Styles Cottril and Kim Lettau. He started life in Sturgis, later moving to Yankton, SD and eventually back to the western part of South Dakota to Box Elder, SD in 2009.  He grew up with his brothers Dustin Lettau, Jason Cottrill, and Richard Cottrill. After graduating from Douglas High School, he went on to school at SDSU in Brookings, SD where he met Victoria Summerside whom he had his daughter Aeriella Lettau with. They moved to Sioux Falls, SD where he spent the following years pouring his heart into Aeriella.

Brandon was a charismatic and joyful human who could bring a smile to many faces and hold a deep and compassionate conversation. Brandon had a passion for many things including basketball, music, humor, his daughter, and God.

Brandon is survived by his mother Paula Styles Cottril of Spearfish; his brother Richard Cottrill and niece Journey of Newell SD; his brother Dustin Lettau of Rapid Valley, SD; and his daughter Aeriella Lettau from De Smet, SD. As well as aunts, uncles and cousins in South Dakota.

He is preceded in death by his brother Jason Cottrill from Rapid City SD; his father Kim Lettau of Sturgis, SD; uncle Wayne Lettau of Sturgis, SD; and grandparents on both sides of his family.

We will be celebrating Brandon's life on Friday,  August 16, 2024 at the North Cove Group Campground in Rapid City, SD 57702 from 2pm to 8pm. Please join us for a potluck and memory sharing. Carpooling is encouraged for families, hope to see you there.
