At age nine, Thelma and family moved to Devils Tower, WY. Her father had swapped his land in Guernsey for a place on Lytle Creek, sight unseen, that included a small sawmill. Thelma attended school in Moorcroft, where she met Ted Glover, they were married in 1936 until his death in July, almost 78 years.

She joined her mother's homemakers club in 1938 and switched to the Inyan Kara Homemakers upon moving to Sundance in 1947. She remained an active member of that club until 2013 when moving to the long term care. Thelma received the Quealy award for her contribution to homemaking and in recognition of her more than 75 years of membership.
