Blayne Maynard Teppo, 51 of Fruitdale, SD passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at his home in Fruitdale with his wife and kids by his side.
Blayne was born in Belle Fourche, SD on July 17 th , 1967 to Maynard and Shirley Teppo. Blayne was the youngest of three boys. He grew up in Fruitdale and attended all his years of schooling in Belle Fourche and graduated high school in 1985. Blayne then enlisted into the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego California.
After serving his country for 4 years, Blayne moved back to South Dakota and began his life as a loving father and husband. Blayne married his true love and best friend Nikki Teppo on August 29, 1992 in Belle Fourche. Blayne's first son, Trevor Lee was born in 1988; his second son, Tyler Steven was born in 1993 and his baby girl, Kaycee Jade was born in 1994. The couple finally made their home base in Fruitdale, SD. Blayne worked in construction throughout his life, the last 10 years he worked for Dean Kurtz construction. He was a master in the art of concrete work. Blayne loved seeing a construction project being built from start to finish and was very proud of his work. With his skills, Blayne and Nikki built their dream home in Fruitdale in 2007. They did the entire project just the two of them. They were very proud of their hard work and the dream home they built for their family.
Blayne had many hobbies and interests that he enjoyed in his free time. He loved spending the weekends at Orman Dam with Nikki and all their close friends in the Lakehouses. You always knew were Blayne's camp was by the sight of the pirate flag flying proudly from their motorhome. Blayne enjoyed cruising the boat on the water, cooking huge amounts of meat on his smoker and enjoying tasty beverages by the camp fire. Blayne was a diehard fan of the Pittsburg Steelers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish. He loved spending his cool fall weekends doing laundry and watching his two favorite teams.
Survivors include his best friend and wife, Nikki Teppo, Fruitdale; sons, Trevor (Stephanie) of Gillette, WY and Tyler (Katria) of Fruitdale; daughter, Kaycee Teppo; father, Maynard (Anna) Teppo of Fruitdale; brothers, Kevin (Sherry) Teppo and Bryan (Lucy) Teppo; one grandson, Odin Blayne Teppo; many beloved nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his mother, Shirley Teppo.
Memorial services will be at 11:30 AM on Monday, July 15, 2019 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. Inurnment will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery will full military honors.
