Beverly Bryant, 80 of Spearfish, passed away on January 9, 2018 at the David M Dorsett Healthcare Center.
Beverly was born on October 25, 1937 to George and Mary (Kinser) Howe in Catlin, IL. She was baptized and a lifelong member of the Fairview Methodist Church in rural Georgetown, IL. She attended school, graduating from Catlin Township High School in 1955. She completed a training course to become a long-distance operator at Illinois Bell Telephone Company. On June 10, 1957, Bev married Henry Melvin "Pete" Bryant at Fairview Methodist Church in rural Georgetown, IL. She was the bookkeeper for their business Itasca Industries in Minnesota. Bev moved to Belle Fourche, SD where she was co-owner of a small deli. Bev later worked as a sales associate for Walmart in Spearfish, SD for 20 years. While employed at Wal-Mart, she made some long-lasting friendships.
Bev enjoyed spending time with her family whether it was camping, snowmobiling riding and even entered a race, fishing, boating trying her luck at water skiing. Their family times were always an adventure. Bev also enjoyed crafting, ceramics and was a gifted tole painter, painting sceneries on circular saw blades and hand saw blades. She loved her yearly trips back to Illinois to visit with her family that she held dear to her heart.
She is survived by her children, Jeff (Julie) Bryant of Belle Fourche, SD and Tatonia (Dan Fuchs) Bryant, Fargo, ND; one grandson, Jason (Brittney) Leverton, Red Feather Lakes, CO; two great grandchildren, Yuri and Hunter Leverton, Red Feather Lakes, CO; two brothers, George "Buddy" (Glona) Howe, Fairmount, IL and Russell Howe, Catlin, IL; one sister, Helen (John) Shank, Erie, PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Pete; an infant son, Jimmy Allan; two brothers, Wayne and Davey and two sisters, Evelynne and Arameda.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018, from 5:00 PM. to 7:00 PM at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish, SD.
