Betty was welcomed to her sweet loving Jesus' arms on her birthday, June 26, 2019.

Bernadette (Betty) Van Well was born June 26, 1942, in Zeeland, ND to Adam and Nora (Mapes) Jangula. She was the youngest of eight children. Betty grew up in Groton and Aberdeen and while in elementary school her mother moved the younger siblings to Portland, OR.

Betty was united in marriage to Ray Van Well January 20, 1960, and they were blessed with four children. Ray & Betty farmed and ranched near Onaka, SD and later moved to Eagle Butte, SD.

She was an active member of the catholic church. She took immense pride in being a sacristan and a personal assistant to many priests in the Rapid City Diocese. Betty was a strong willed and independent lady, which led her to numerous career paths. Many of these were assisting the needy of the various communities she lived in.

Betty was afflicted with many health issues over the years. Jesus was her constant companion throughout all her struggles, keeping him close to her heart. Her great grandbabies gave her much peace and joy, especially the last few weeks of her pain.

Loving family she leaves behind are children, Kevin(Colette) Van Well, Robin (David) Schrempp, Keith (Kim) Van Well and Audrey (Chad) Lindstrom; grandchildren, Breana (Andrew) Rexroad, Brad (Codi)Schrempp, Taylor Van Well, Elliot Van Well, Sydney Van Well, Cody Lindstrom and Kady Lindstrom; great-grandchildren, Hailey Rexroad, Clayton Schrempp, Xander Rexroad and Sadie Schrempp; and three siblings, Norbert Jangula, Leo Jangula and Elaine Nelsen. She was preceded in death by her parents, and four siblings.

Rest in Peace Mom, you are finally home.

Memorial Mass will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Deadwood.
