Barton E. Willuweit passed away at home in the early hours of Friday morning, March 10, 2023.

Bart was born in Sturgis S.D. on December 18 ^th , 1955 to Mavis and William Willuweit.

He spent his childhood in Central City. In 1978, Bart met the love of his life, Lori. They were married at Ft. Meade, S.D. Lori and Bart were blessed with two children, Jacob and Elissa. They moved to Spearfish in 1984. Bart started working at the post office where he became a well-loved mailman. In the time they lived in Spearfish, their family grew to include his beloved granddaughters, Madison and Kelsie, and great-granddaughter, Gracelynn Elissa.

Bart's hobbies included being involved in church, volunteering to teach, playing trivia and learning about history.

Bart's wishes were that his remains be donated to the South Dakota School of Medicine to further research on Marfan's Syndrome and Loeys-Dietz Syndrome.

He left behind his wife Lori, son Jake, granddaughters Madison and Kelsie and great-granddaughter Gracelynn.  Bart is preceded in death by his daughter, Elissa, his parents William and Mavis, siblings Gale, Mark, Ross, and Billy.

Memorial Services will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Spearfish, on Tuesday 14th, 2023 at 3:00 pm.
