Barbara M. (Bond) Moore, 84 of Spearfish, passed away peacefully at her home in Spearfish, SD, on Sunday, October 24, 2010 with her loving daughter, Dena, by her side after a courageous and inspirational struggle with a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish with Pastor Kim Bachman officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at 2:30 P.M.at Black Hills National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Hospice of the Northern Hills.
Barbara was born on June 4, 1926 to Howard and Gretchen (Gooding) Bond in Omaha, NE. A talented musician, after graduating from Omaha North HS Barb toured the country with the Joy Caylor Orchestra and The Rhythm Queens, performing for troops during the war. Married in 1946, to Robert "Bob" Moore they lived in Omaha until moving to Spearfish in 1991. She will be remembered in our hearts as a loving mother and aunt and for her wonderful sense of humor, zest for life and indomitable courage and perseverance in the face of adversity.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Dena and George Pongruber, Spearfish; sister Sally (Bond) Berg, Cincinnati; grandson, Michael Pongruber, Omaha; and many beloved nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert Moore; parents; and sister Janet (Bond) Prucha.
