Longtime Spearfish resident, Barbara Eccles Dodd passed away early Saturday, August 2, 2008 in Spearfish, SD at the age of 90.

Barbara was born in Belle Fourche SD, June 17, 1918, the only child of pioneer family Marston & Ethel Hall Eccles, Barbara was educated in the Belle Fourche School System, graduating in 1937.
On January 1, 1939 she married William O. (Bud) Dodd of Spearfish, who preceded her in death in 1987.
She was a twenty-five year employee of The Black Hills Power & Light Company, now known as Black Hills Corporation.

Barbara was a master in the craft of crocheting and her beautiful work was appreciated so much by her family and friends! She was loved and will be missed.

Barbara is survived by her only child, Richard J. Dodd & wife Catherine of Durango Colorado. She leaves three grandchildren: DeeAnn Varns of Scottsdale, AZ, Natalie A. Willis of Boerne TX, & Gregory A. Dodd of Durango Colorado. She also leaves eight great grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 1:30 pm at the Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish, SD. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
