Ava G. Eilers, 95, died Monday, December 5, 2011, at David M. Dorsett Healthcare Center in Spearfish, SD.

Ava was born to Harry and Nellie Hamilton, on February 8, 1916, in Colome, SD. Ava graduated from Witten High School in 1933, and from Black Hills Beauty School in Rapid City SD, in 1937. Ava was a long time member of Good Shepherd CLC Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD. She possessed a great faith that sustained her throughout her life.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Larry (Sondra) Eilers, Santa Barbara, CA, Leonard Eilers, Aurora, CO, and Alan (Susan) Eilers, Spearfish, SD. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Ellen Atkinson, Butte NE, and Lorraine Pacheco, Sparks, NV, and one brother, Art Weidner, Loveland, CO; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Ava was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Eilers; two brothers, Merle Hamilton, and Don Hamilton; three sisters, Leona Hickey, Vera Tappe, and Doris Hause.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, December 9, 2011 at Good Shepherd CLC Lutheran Church in Rapid City, with service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the Black Hills National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd CLC Lutheran Church, in Rapid City.
