Audrey L. (Larson) Anderson, 90 of Deadwood, died on April 1, 2018 at the Lead-Deadwood Regional Hospital.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lead. A memorial has been established to the Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department.

Audrey was born on March 7, 1928 in Renville, MN to Cliff and Flossie Larson. The family moved to Deadwood when she was 9 years old and graduated from Deadwood High School in 1946. She married J. William Anderson on June 18, 1950.

She lived in the Brownsville community her entire married life where she was very active in the community and the Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department. She was always the first one to step up to help a friend or neighbor. She belonged to the Shepard of the Hills Lutheran Church in Lead and enjoyed attending there until her health restricted her activity. She loved the outdoors and all wildlife and kept watch over her fields for elk and deer or any other creature that happened by. She helped with the fencing, feeding cattle, haying and gardening on the place at Brownsville that she loved. She attended any and all events that her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren participated in and was their #1 fan. She loved to hunt and successfully harvested many deer over the years. In her 80's, she even conquered the new technology and loved her IPad where she could keep in touch with everyone via Facebook, email, messaging and FaceTime. She loved playing the slots in Deadwood and on her IPad at home. She loved family get togethers and hosted Christmas Eve every year for 30-40 people at her home. She was considered a second Mom to Cindy Ells (Ray) Haas from Dallas, TX. They came regularly to visit her. She lived for her family!

Audrey is survived by her children, Dennis Anderson, Brownsville, Kristi (Ray) Ruff, Spearfish, Becky (Gene) Ruff, Nemo and Mike (Annalisa) Anderson, Brownsville; grandchildren, Scott (Sarah) Anderson, Spearfish, Paul (Katie) Anderson, Leadville, CO, Chad (Brooke) Anderson, Lead, Travis (Amy) Ruff, Spearfish, Leah (Larry) Hopkins, Lead, Matthew (April) Ruff, Sturgis and Derek (Danae) Berman, Pierre; great-grandchildren, Lainey and Mason Anderson, Wilson Anderson, Kinley and Emmitt Anderson, Alivia, Wyat and Alyse Ruff, Shelbee and Kadyn Hopkins, Vincent and Gabrielle Ruff and Raya Rose Berman; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. William Anderson on October 29,1997 and siblings, Emmett Larson, Walt Larson, Lucille Keehl, George Larson and Alice Wright.
