Audree Jones, 93, of Spearfish South Dakota, passed away on April 22, 2024.

Audree (Stork) Jones was born July 3, 1930, in Madison, Nebraska to Frank and Leona Stork. She attended St. Leonard's Catholic School and Madison High School, graduating in 1948. In 1950, she married Martin Jones and moved to Grand Island, Nebraska. There, three children, Virginia, Terry and Mike were born. In 1961, the family moved to Belle Fourche, South Dakota where daughter, Suzette was born. Audree worked at the Piggly Wiggly as a bookkeeper for 11 years. She was the original working mom by being a homemaker with a full-time job. Yet she was still able to attend all her children's concerts and programs.

Martin and Audree divorced in 1977. Audree moved to Spearfish, where she worked in the Business Office at Black Hills State University, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed traveling and seeing her family. Audree loved reading, especially mysteries, where she had the mystery solved before the end of the novel. She had an amazing green thumb, and was always starting clippings for family and friends. Audree loved being outside. She enjoyed sitting on her patio, watching the deer and birds and looking at the night sky. She also loved cats and had an impressive collection of cat items.

Audree is survived by her four children. Virginia Nielsen, Caper, Wyoming, Terry Severyn (Richard Zielinski) Hamilton, Montana, Mike (Cherry), Los Osos, California, Suzette Dillon (Jerry), Lino Lakes, Minnesota, and her former husband, Martin Jones. Audree was the proud grandma of ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents,  Frank and Leona Stork; sisters Bonnie Seymour and Mary Wright, and brother Bill Stork.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Spearfish, South Dakota. With the vigil and visitations from 9-10 am and Funeral Mass at 10 am.  Burial will be at 11:15 am at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spearfish. A luncheon will follow for family and friends at the church.
