Arthur Merry, 83 of Upton, WY passed away peacefully at the Weston County Hospital on November 5, 2018. Arthur has resided in the nursing home since he fell from a stroke May 2017.

Arthur was raised in Winfield, KS where he was born to Leona and Clifford Merry.

He married his high school sweetheart Phyllis Speer, June 24, 1956. To this union they had five children, Debra Lynam, Julie Shepperson, Greg Merry, Michael Merry and Jeff Merry.

He worked and retired from John Morrell Packing Co after 30 years. He then became a school bus driver for West Elk District #282 out of Howard, KS for the next ten years.

He enjoyed coaching, Little League Baseball and Pee Wee Football, as well as hunting and fishing. He was elected as a city council man and acting mayor as needed. He had a great love for music and spending time with his family and friends.

Arthur was preceded in death by his mother; two sisters; and sons, Greg and Michael. He is survived by his wife Phyllis of Upton; his daughters, Debra and Julie; son, Jeff; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30pm on Friday November 9, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery at Upton, WY.
