Arlo Elvis Todd 76, was born on March 28, 1941 at his family's home near Agar, South Dakota, and died September 26, 2017 at the David M Dorsett Health Care in Spearfish, South Dakota following a lengthy illness.
Born to Charles M. and Annie (Siebrasse) Todd, Arlo attended grade school at Todd Country School and graduated from Agar High School in 1960. He remained connected to his classmates throughout his life.
As a teenager, he purchased the home ranch from his parents. Arlo married Karen Clark on June 13, 1965 in Onida, South Dakota. They lived and worked on the ranch until 1985. Arlo enjoyed his livelihood which included ranching, farming, trucking, and handy man. He was privileged to be able to live and work in a number of different places. These included Agar, Pierre, Belle Fourche, Canning, Sioux Falls, and Spearfish, South Dakota as well as Tyler, Texas, and Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
Arlo loved the Lord and served Him throughout his life. He was instrumental in many Awana programs, church plants, and Bible studies. He found great joy in talking with people, reading his bible, driving truck, riding and driving horses, and caring for cows and calves.
Arlo is survived by his wife, Karen Todd of Spearfish; daughters, Julie (Blake) Brokaw of Scottsdale, AZ and Donna Todd of Sioux Falls, SD; and son, James (Teri) Todd of Whitewood, SD. He enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren, Blythe Brokaw, Hunter Brokaw, Logan Williams, Nathan Schumacher, Clancy Todd, and Mariah Todd. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Violet, Orville, Ronelly, Rose, Lewellyn, Fern, Anton, Basil, Cecil, and daughter, Doris.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 PM (CST) on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Community Bible Church in Pierre, SD. A memorial donation will be made to an Awana program of the family's choice.
