Arlene Louise Roddewig was born on November 9th, 1926, in Onida, South Dakota. She went home to be with the Lord on July 17th, 2018, in Spearfish, South Dakota. She graduated from high school in Blunt, South Dakota and later graduated from the Sioux Valley Hospital School of Nursing. Arlene married Herbert Vetter on September 25th, 1947. They spent nearly 67 happy years together and were blessed with five children.

Arlene is survived by five children, including two daughters; Marilyn Walther and her husband, Bob, of Spearfish, and Linda Vetter, also of Spearfish; and three sons: David and his wife Renee of Haysville, Kansas, Steve and his wife Carol of Turtle Lake, North Dakota, and Tim of Dallas, Texas. Arlene is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Pastor Herbert Vetter, her parents, Charles and Leah Roddewig, and her brother, John Roddewig.

A visitation and prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapel in Spearfish. The Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be at Mountain View Baptist Church in Spearfish at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 21, 2018, with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery.
