Arlene McGuigan, 92 of San Jose, CA passed away on January 6, 2011.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 14, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Spearfish, SD with Father Kerry Prendiville as celebrant. Interment will follow at Rosehill Cemetery in Spearfish. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.

Arlene McGuigan was born August 27, 1918 in Cresco, Iowa

Arlene was raised in a small, rural community in Iowa and made her way to San Diego, California in 1941 to attend her brother's wedding. While there, she met Tom, her spouse of 51 years. She was a loving and dedicated spouse, mother and homemaker in her San Diego home where she lived independently until last November. She then moved into an assisted living facility in San Jose, California, She enjoyed sewing, baking and gardening.

She is survived by her sons, John of Cupertino, CA and David of San Jose, CA; her sister Helen of Oelwein, IA; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nick and Teresa Drilling of New Hampton, IA, her brothers, Hugo, Arnold, Edward and Virgil also of IA, her brother Jerome of San Diego, CA, and her husband Thomas of Spearfish, SD.
