Argene Julia Wuertz-Phillips, 86, a longtime resident of Spearfish, SD, died Tuesday, November 14 at 8:10 p.m. at Windcrest Assisted Living in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Born on April 23, 1931, Argene was raised on a farm outside of Montrose, SD. She married Charles Phillips on July 3, 1952 in Atlanta, Georgia. Argene loved to read, travel, and collect antiques. She loved life and her family.

Argene is survived by her husband, Charles Phillips, of Lincoln, Nebraska; son Keith and daughter-in-law Jenni of Crete, Nebraska, son David Phillips, of Lincoln, Nebraska, and son Donald Phillips and daughter-in-law Kathie of Denton, Nebraska.

Graveside services will be at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Black Hills National Cemetery with Fr John Paul Trask officiating. Memorials may be sent to Hearts United for Animals (in memory of Argene Phillips), Box 286, Auburn, Nebraska 68305.
