Ardis Schacher, 83 of Spearfish, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Garden Hills Assisted Living.
Ardis was born on November 17, 1932 in Grafton, ND. Her family later moved to Washburn, ND where she was raised and graduated from high school. She finished one year at NDSU in Fargo, ND.
She married Harry Schacher on November 3, 1951. Their first home was in Council Bluffs, IA, then St. Paul, MN, and then Fargo, ND until 1994, when they moved to Spearfish.
Ardis was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She thoroughly studied the Bible and enjoyed telling others about the hope and promises that are available to mankind.
Ardis was a busy person, if she wasn't helping the girls with their homework or out in the preaching work, she was cleaning house, cooking, having a grandchild over, and at the end of the day doing her studying and her many knitting projects.
She is survived by her husband, Harry; daughters, Marcia (Steve) Charlson, Spearfish, Cynthia (Perry) Kupfer, Mandan, ND; four grandchildren, Greg Charlson, Spearfish, Tami Charlson, Denver, CO, Michelle Erlanson, Chitre, Panama and Scott Charlson, Spearfish; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; brother, Lewellyn Tewksbury, Harvey, ND; sister, Nettie Jean Bargen, Sumas, WA and sister-in-law, Juanita Tewksbury, Fargo.
Private family services will be held.
