Memorial services will be held at 3:30 P.M., Friday, August 8th 2008 at Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel in Sundance with Charles Dutcher and Bill Haley officiating.
Anna was born to Lesley and Mary Simpson on July 16th 1925 on the family farm south of Sundance. She valued education having graduated with honors as the salutatorian of her high school class in Newcastle, Wyoming. She received her teaching certificate and taught at Pinegrove country school. She married David Joseph Peterson, who lived on a ranch nearby, on July 1, 1946. Anna lived her entire life in one area, but participated in many activities and touched many lives. In her youth she played the guitar and sang. She enjoyed horseback riding, gardening, fossil hunting, snowmobiling, cooking, stirring up her special fudge for gifts and taking care of the animals, big and small. Capable and resourceful, she made and inviting home on the isolated prairie by doing all the work a farm demands.
Anna is survived by two daughters, Diana (David) Hazekamp of Jordanville, NY and Jean Peterson of Sundance, two grandchildren, Jill Hazekamp of Mahopac, NY and Chad Hazekamp of Jordonville, NY, one brother, Nels "Bud" Simpson of Sundance, one aunt, Elizabeth Cummings of Newcastle and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an infant brother.
