Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Deadwood followed by burial at Oakridge Cemetery in Deadwood.
Ann was born November 22, 1919 in Deadwood to Walter W. and Anna (Clauser) Wiswell. She attended school at St. Ambrose Catholic School and completed her education upon graduation from Deadwood High School. Following graduation she was employed as a bookkeeper at Fish and Hunter Mercantile in Deadwood.
On June 21, 1941 she married Willard Iverson and they were blessed with eight children. They lived and raised their children on the same street where Ann had been born in Deadwood.
Ann enjoyed her family, helping out at Cub and Boy Scout meetings, and assisting at school functions. She was a great cook and hosted a lot of family meals, where many memories were made and shared. She was also active in St. Ambrose Altar Society and a member of the Eagles Club of Deadwood, where she held several positions, including president for several years. She headed a lot of fund raisers that kept the Eagles going strong. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, sewing and crocheting. She was a joy to visit with as she was quick witted and the visit always turned to laughter.
Survivors include her children, John of Belle Fourche, Walter (Sue) of Englewood, CO, Phyllis (Gerald) Pokorney of Deadwood, Francis (Eileen) of Deadwood, Virlene Ivy (Don) Oxford of Lead and Paul of Lead; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, brother, Walter Wiswell of Deadwood, special friend Jan Wiswell of Thompson Falls, MT, several cousins and brother and sister-in-laws.
She was preceded in death by her husband Willard in 1994, her mother and father, daughter Carol Ann at birth, son Robert age 18, brother Ollie and wife Jean of Louisville, KY, Cousin Robert Wiswell of Thomspon Falls, MT, and many special sister and brother-in-laws, aunts, uncles and cousins.
A special thank you is expressed to her extended family that cared for her in her last years at both Golden Ridge in Lead and Dorsett Healthcare Center in Spearfish. You all helped her laugh when her heart was sad-thank you for your care.
