Obituary
Anna Goehring, 89 of Deadwood, SD passed away peacefully on October 6, 2017 at Belle Fourche Healthcare Center.
Anna Verona (Voegle) Goehring was born on June 22, 1928 in Roscoe, SD to Christian and Katarina (Capp) Voegle. She was the youngest of 13 children.
Her first marriage produced two children, Gloria and Arnold Guthmiller. On December 27, 1955, she married her second husband Howard Henry Goehring, and their first child, Sharon, was born that same year. They moved to the Black Hills from Aberdeen, SD and made their home on Adams Street in Deadwood. Shortly thereafter, her husband Howard went to work for the Homestake Gold Mine. A little more than 2 ½ years later they had another girl, Sharlene. 5 ½ years later came Anna's youngest and fourth daughter, Melody. They raised their family of five in their home on Adams Street, then in 1985 they moved to a smaller home on Charles Street in Deadwood. She remained there until she went into assisted living at Edgewood Estates in Spearfish. Later she moved into the Belle Fourche Nursing Home where she remained until her passing.
Anna and Howard enjoyed 50 years of marriage, celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2005.
She is survived by her four daughters, Gloria (Randy) Niesent, Sharon (James) Orsborn-Bashor, Sharlene (Rodney) Nelson, and Melody (Donnie) Kleinheksel; grandchildren, Tracy Niesent, Travis Nelson, Troy Niesent, Brent Orsborn, Trent Kleinheksel, Nicole Kleinheksel, Shawna Orsborn, and Eric Nelson; step-granddaughter, Amy (Orsborn) Brady; great-grandchild, Nakayla Kleinheksel and step great-grandchildren, Callee Brady, Cody Brady and Jamin Davidson.
Anna is preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her son, Arnie; her parents and numerous brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Deadwood.
