IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Anita
Goodrich
November 4, 1963 – May 8, 2021
Anita Jo Goodrich "Peaches", age 57, from Lead SD, passed away May 8th, 2021 in Garretson, SD at Palisades Nursing Home Hospice Center after a 18 month battle with cancer.
Anita was born in Pierre, SD to Judith and Phil Lemieux. They moved to the Black Hills area while Anita was an adolescent. Anita went to Lead High School but completed her GED in Nevada, and went on to attend nursing school in Nevada.
Anita was the youngest of six children and she loved all of her siblings dearly. She had a son and daughter, four grandsons and two granddaughters.
Anita was full of life and loved spending time with family and friends especially around the holidays. She was always there for someone in need and if she didn't have it, she would find a way to get it. She never wanted to let others down.
Anita loved watching old movies and sitcoms like "The Red Green" show and "Are you being Served". She loved doing arts and crafts with and for her grandchildren. She loved baking, cooking for others and gardening. In her younger years she loved being on the back of a motorcycle with the wind in her hair and an adventure in sight.
Anita is survived by her daughter Becky Widener (Lead), son Sean Goodrich (Texas), sisters Fran Allen (Lead), Janice Dower (Wyoming), brother Richard Tallmage (Sturgis), grandsons, granddaughters, and many neices and nephews.
Anita is proceeded in death by Judith & Phil Lemieux, Mike Tallmage, Dale Tallmage, and Kurtis Tallmage.
"When Tomorrow Starts Without Me"
When tomorrow starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand; The angel said my place was ready, in Heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But when I walked through Heavens' Gates, I felt so much at home, for God looked down, smiled at me, and told me "Welcome Home". So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart.
There will be spreading of ashes July 3rd, 2021 @ 5PM, the celebration will follow and the location will be announced at the Summit for the potluck and party that Anita wanted. She encouraged jokes, stories, Jack Daniels, laughter, and memories made and shared. We encourage you to have a designated driver or use the local taxi services as want everyone to make it home safe. Please contact Becky @ 605-920-1312 via text message if you would like to attend & want to participate in the potluck for all the details.
Arrangements are under the care of the Lead-Deadwood Memorial Chapel in Lead. Online condolences may be written at www.fidler-isburgfuneralchapels.com
