Alice Elizabeth Lawrence, 90, of Garden City, KS, formerly of Wibaux, MT passed away on Thursday, August 24, 2022, at Saint Catherine's Hospital in Garden City, KS. A Celebration of Alices life was held in Garden City. Interment will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD
Alice was born in Siebert, CO on August 15, 1932, a daughter of Charles and Bertha (Beckner) Taylor. She grew up in the Siebert area where she attended schools. Alice lived in various places, and would eventually move to Wibaux, MT in the early 1970's. Alice met and married John Lawrence. To this union, a daughter, Tempa was born and uniting John's children, and Alices children, .
While living in Wibaux, Alice worked in restaurants in Wibaux, Beach, and Glendive. She eventually finished her career in food service working at Glenview Retirement Home in Glendive. Alice and John moved to Glendive where they made their home until his death in April 1996. She then moved to Paris, AR and then to Garden City where she made her home until her death.
God was important to Alice. While living in Wibaux, she was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving Alice are her children, Peggy Daniher, Patty Powell, Nancy Langhausen, Ken Hinton, Shirley Studstill and Tempa (Jay) Grigsby and John's daughter, Carol Tasker and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews ,and other family members. She was preceded in death by husband, John, her parents, Charles, and Bertha.
Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Isburg Funeral Chapels and Isburg Crematory of Spearfish, South Dakota.
