Alexander "Ron" Achtziger, 63 of Sundance, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 26, 2013.

Ron was born on May 15, 1949 in Belle Fourche, SD to Alexander and Beatrice (Andersen) Achtziger. He served in The US Army in the Medic Unit during Vietnam and continued in the medical field as a RN after being honorably discharged.

Ron and his wife, Anna, moved to Sundance, WY in 2005, and Ron began the life he always wanted. His dream was to always have a life on the range with horses and other animals to care for. His kind heart was his most valued asset whether helping a neighbor or herding cattle the sparkle in his beautiful blue eyes would shine through.

Survivors include his wife, Anna of Sundance; his daughter, Kelly (Scott) Polston of CA; grandsons, Evertt, Aidian, Rhys and Cary; sisters, Becky (Steve) Bowen and Vicky (Dale) Buchholz both of Lincoln, NE.

A Celebration of Ron's life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013at the Masonic Temple Lodge #9 (611 Cleveland Street) in Sundance. A reception will follow from 1:00-3:00 p.m., at Flannigan's Irish Pub in Spearfish with refreshments, Guiness and stories of Ron to share.
