Albert C. Neiman, Jr. 88 of Hulett, Wyoming died Thursday, February 12, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at the Hulett High School Gymnasium with Pastor Tim Tromble officiating, burial will follow at the Hulett Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A reception will follow after the burial at the Hulett Civic Center.
A memorial has been established to benefit the Hulett Volunteer Fire Department and the Greater Hulett Community Center. Condolences may be sent to P.O. Box 276 Hulett, WY 82720.
Albert C. Neiman, Jr., was born February 4, 1921 at Eades, Colorado, to Albert Carmel and Annie Mable (Gerber) Neiman. The family left Colorado and moved to Nebraska, where Albert went to school at Gordon and later, as a young man, helped to operate a refinery at Hemingford, Nebraska. Sawmilling later brought them to the Custer, South Dakota and Newcastle, Wyoming area, then to the Upton, Wyoming community, where Albert went to school. He left high school in his junior year, and was needed at Gillette, Wyoming to work for his Dad. He later had a small sawmill of his own on the Haskins Place on upper Blacktail Creek. He left there to go to Cheyenne, Wyoming to work for United Airlines as a machinist. When the Japanese hit Pearl Harbor he was 19 years old and enlisted in the U.S. Navy taking his training at Farragut, Idaho. He spent time at Santa Anna Naval Air force Base in California. He was stationed in Florida with the lighter-than-air Division of the Navy, flying a blimp all along the coast of the U.S., South America, and the Caribbean looking for German submarines. He was stationed different times in Trinidad, Guantanimo Bay, Venezuela, and Racife, Brazil. While stationed in Florida he married Ruth V. Nelson. He returned to the Hulett, Wyoming area in 1945 and worked at his Dad's sawmill, hauling grain doors and coal doors to Jolly Siding. In 1949 he moved to a small ranch he had bought on Skull Creek in the Osage, Wyoming area. He ranched, drove a school bus, and sold cars. To this union four children were born; Sandra Elaine Neiman, Patricia Louise Neiman, Tom Allen Neiman, and Kenneth Paul Neiman. He and Ruth were divorced and he continued to ranch, sell cars, and take care of his children.
He was married to Lorene Mae Neiman December 1965. To this union two son were born; Albert L. "Chip" Neiman and Jeffry Carmel Neiman. In 1970 he sold the Osage Ranch and bought the JH Ranch at Hulett, Wyoming. Ranching was his love and joy. He raised buffalo, horses, sheep, and cows. He dearly loved to hunt and fish. Going to Jackson Hole every fall was a must. He dearly loved those grandchildren and great grandchildren that came along; 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
He is sorely missed and greatly loved by his loving wife of 43 years, Lorene Mae Neiman; daughter Sandra E. Neiman, Gillette, Wyoming and children Brian and Eric Kryaninko and Tanya (Joseph) Schwartz of Florida; daughter Patricia L. Neiman, Miami, Florida; son Tom A. (Nan) Neiman, Gillette, Wyoming and children Brittany (Logan) Lindholm; Tori V. Neiman, Gillette, Wyoming; son Kenneth Neiman, son Albert L. "Chip" (Joni) Neiman, Hulett, Wyoming and children Hailey and Preston; son Jeffry C.(Debby) Neiman, Sturgis, South Dakota and children Christopher, Casie and Sidney; step-son William M. (Toni) Neiman, Hulett, Wyoming and children Billy Neiman, Fort Collins, Colorado and Mason (Jessica) Neiman, Danville, Pennsylvania and daughter Naomi Pearl Neiman; step-daughter Kathy Hanson, Pasco, Washington and children Joshua Hanson, Richland, Washington along with great grandson Tyler Hanson, and Adam Hanson, Idaho; step-son Mike (Bobbie) Neiman, Albany, Oregon and children Matthew Neiman and Sara Neiman, Portland, Oregon; step-daughter Debra (Casey) Anderson, Big Horn, Wyoming and children Tania (Kyle) Haratyk, Lander, Wyoming and children Ashley, Megan, and Myriah; Angela (Levi) Jones, Guernsey, Wyoming and daughter Sierra; Buddy Hall, Casper, Wyoming and daughter Kaitlyn, two sisters, Ruth Dickman, Washington, Indiana and Mary E. Barbour, Hulett and two brothers, Henry L Neiman and James S. Neiman both of Hulett.
He has touched the lives of each and every one of this family and will be greatly and sincerely missed. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Albert Carmel (A.C.) and Annie Mabel (Gerber) Neiman, sister, Carrie E. Greer, brothers, Adam R. Neiman and William A. Neiman, and step-son David A. Neiman.
